Raynes M. Ulbrich of San Luis Obispo, California, formerly of
Logansport, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008. She was born December 20, 1917, at Nappanee, Indiana to Chester and Ethel Kleckner Gardner.
She later lived in Carroll County for ten years before moving to East Chicago, Indiana. After graduating from Washington High School of East Chicago in 1934, she attended East Chicago Business College.
On October 1, 1936 she was married to Robert T. Ulbrich in East Chicago. They resided in Logansport from 1950 until his death in 1991. Raynes moved to California three years later to be near her daughter.
While in Logansport, she was employed in the Purchasing and Sales Department of RBM/United Technologies for 29 years.
She was a member of The First Assembly of God Church, and formerly a member of The Baptist Temple. She was active in Church Women United, Women's Aglow Fellowship, and various other church activities. She enjoyed reading, Bible study and teaching, and playing the piano.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Gothe of San Luis Obispo, California; one granddaughter, Ann Hansen of Grover Beach, California; one great-grandson, Kyle; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves many old friends in Logansport and new friends in California.
Visitation hours will be held on Sunday from 1-5 PM in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
Private Graveside rights will be held on Monday.
