Richard E. Jones, 88, of Logansport passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Millers Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born May 5, 1926 in Monticello, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harvey and Grace (Rushaw) Jones. On June 21, 1975 in North Manchester he married Patricia J. McMillin who preceded in death on February 18, 1998.
Richard worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and then retired from Con-Rail. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Tipton Masonic Lodge #33, and was a WWII Army Veteran.
Surviving are four daughters, Deborah K. (Tom) Curl; Cynthia A. (Kevin) Hatten, both of Logansport; Barbara J. Earhart, Arizona; Mary Jane (Norman) Connell, Seymour, IN; son, Homer C. (DeYone) Jenkins, Orange City, FL; eleven grandchildren, Jason Curl; Erin James, both of Logansport; Dave Broughton, Lafayette; Ryan McCulllum, Wayne McCullum, Steve McCullum, all of Arizona; Eric Connell, Delphi; Norma Jean Connell, Seymour, IN; Stephanie Mulevu, Fort Wayne; Lindsay Fouch, Kokomo; Adam Hatten, Evansville; four great grandchildren, Chantel Bryan, McKenzie Vibbert, Natalie Sutherland, and Emily Sutherland; five great great grandchildren, Jordan James, Daniel Broughton Kaleb Hatten, Evan Hatten, and Kadence Vibbert; one brother, Ralph (Diane) Jones, Florida.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Harold Jones, and a great grandson, Brandon Lewis.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Damon Soper officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until the time of services on Tuesday.
