Robert R. Buck, a loving and giving husband, father, and grandfather, was received into
the arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, July 25, 2007.
Though sadly missed, we celebrate his home going.
Born in Logansport, IN, August 25, 1920, he faithfully demonstrated unshakable love
for his God, his wife, and his family.
He was, on two occasions, the Cass County, Indiana, golf champion; and he was
a runner-up Logansport, IN, city golf champion. His on-the-green putting was legend,
and on one occasion allowed him to defeat the great pro golfer, George Bayer, in
tournament play at the Logansport Country Club.
As a home builder, he was a "measure twice and cut once" craftsman.
He was appointed Logansport's first Building Commissioner and served the city
from 1955-1956.
He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1981 after 40 years of service.
He was a faithful member of the New Life Alliance Church, Logansport, IN; a Life
Member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; a Life Member of Elk's Lodge # 66;
and owner of the Logansport Hardees restaurant.
We are poorer without him; and heaven is richer to have him.
