Robert Holcomb

Robert E. Holcomb, 84, of Logansport, passed away Sunday Sept. 7, 2014 at 6:50 pm in Millers Merry Manor.

Born March 13, 1930 in Logansport to the late Homer and Pauline A. "Weise" Holcomb.

On January 21, 1950 in Logansport he married Fay Ellen Acton who preceded in death Nov. 24, 1983. On Dec. 24, 1984 in Logansport he married Wilma J. Watson/Fiedler who preceded in death on Aug. 18, 1996. On October 4, 1999 in Logansport he married Esther Ann (Wagner) McMillen who survives.

Bob retired from the Logansport Fire Department in 1980 after twenty five years of service. He then went to work for Logan Lumber and McCords for another twenty eight years.
Bob was a member of the River of Life Christian Church and Elks Lodge #66. He was an avid wood worker and enjoyed spending time in his woodworking shop.

Other survivors include two daughters, Nancy Louise Zeider, Logansport; Lynn Ellen (Greg) Smith, Brookston; Sister-In-Law, Alberta (Leonard) Grable, Star City; Sister-In-Law, Susan (Jerry) Spencer, Logansport; three grandchildren, Patrick (Megan) Zeider, Nicole Zeider and Jason Mosser; three great grandchildren, Alyssa, Wyatt and Aiden Zeider; several nieces and nephews.

One infant son, one granddaughter, Elizabeth Zeider, one son-in-law, Steve Zeider, one sister, Juanita Johnson and one brother, Wayne Holcomb, preceded in death.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 Thursday, September 11, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Kincaid officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Gundrum Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the River of Life Christian Church.
