Biography

Robert "Bob" L. Hughes, 88, Logansport, passed away at 6:55 am Friday, December 14, 2012, in the Indiana Masonic Home at Franklin, IN.

Born October 18, 1924 in Cass County, Bob was the son of the late Ralph and Lora Gaumer Hughes.
On December 15, 1944 in Kokomo, Indiana Robert married Dorothy Eichensehr who preceded him in death. On January 19, 1985 in Logansport he married Mary K. Black who preceded him in death on June 9, 2011.

Robert retired from General Tire Company in 1987 after 30 years of service. A 1942 graduate of Royal Center High School, he was also a World War 2 Army Air Corp Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post #60, V.F.W. Post #3790, Logansport Shrine Club, Grand Lodge F. & A.M. of Indiana and a member and past Master of the Tipton Masonic Lodge #33.

Surviving Robert are his 2 sons, Thomas (Brenda) Hughes, LaPaz, IN; Daniel L. Hughes, Frankfort; two step sons, Ronald Allen, Goshen, IN; and John (Susan) English, Switz City, IN; one step daughter, Debra (Bobby) Toon, Royal Center; 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
One brother, John Hughes and 1 Sister, Betty Denny preceded him in death.

At Bob's request his cremation will be handled by the Cass County Crematory and there will be no services. Arrangements were entrusted to the Gundrum Funeral Home and Crematory.
