Robert L. âMoldyâ Molden Jr., 67, OâFallon, Ill., formerly of Logansport, died at 1:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
Born May 24, 1943, in Peru, he was the son of Robert L. Molden Sr. and Lula B. Smith. He was married May 24, 1986, in Logansport, to Ruby A. Sanders.
Bob was formerly employed at Wilson Foods, Lobdell Emery and Klopfensteinâs Construction Company.
Bob was a member of VFW Post 3790 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam war. He was a decorated Veteran with National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Expert Badge (rifle) and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He served in the U.S. Army from March of 1965 until June of 1969.
Bob enjoyed making his secret fried potatoes for family cookouts, spending time watching the Colts and playing golf. He also enjoyed his golf cart rides with Ruby down Moldenâs Highway to the lake house.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby A. Molden, OâFallon, Ill.; son, Mark Robert Molden and fiancé, Niki Leanne Kerr, Rochester; daughters, Kristina Willis and husband, Bruce, Peru, Anita Grimes Klopfenstein and husband, Lynn, OâFallon, Ill., Lora Grimes McWherter and husband, David, Royal Center, and Lisa Grimes DeShields and Dennis, Accokeek, Md.; mother, Lula B. Molden, Logansport; brothers, Phillip Molden, and Stephen Molden and wife, Jody, all of Logansport; sister, Debra Reeser and husband, Mike, Walton; grandchildren, Kaliegh Reyes, Seth Reyes, Braxton Molden, Kylie Johnson, Ryan Klopfenstein, Chad Klopfenstein, Amanda Travelstead, Jessica Klopfenstein, Sasha Lindeen, Rachel Lindeen, Ashley M. Klopfenstein, Mike Klopfenstein, Krystal Klopfenstein, Jack Klopfenstein, Kimberly Klopfenstein, Austin McWherter, Haley McWherter, Blake Eschberger, Kian McWherter, Stewart Spindlow and Jennifer Crocket; and great-grandchildren, Grace and Brady Klopfenstein, Carson Travelstead, MaKaylah DeShields and Jacob Young; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Tiffy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Molden, Sr.; and granddaughter, Ashley L. Klopfenstein.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Drye officiating.
Burial, with full military rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
