Services for Robert Lee Phillips Jr., 86, Royal Center, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 11:50 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, at his residence.
Born Sept. 25, 1920, in Cass County, he was the son of Robert L. Sr. and Letha Mae Fultz Phillips. He was married May 15, 1943, near Royal Center, to Martha Lee Shafer, who survives.
Bob was a retired farmer and had also worked 16 years on the Cass County Highway Department as a heavy equipment operator.
Bob attended First Church of the Nazarene. He also loved his dog, Duke, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Also surviving are one daughter, Joey Day and her husband, Ronnie, Royal Center; two sons, Dean Phillips and his wife, Judy, Troy, Ohio, and Ken Phillips and his wife, Connie, Buckland, Alaska; six grandchildren, Angela DaWalt and her husband, Mark, Royal Center, Brett Day and his wife, Season, Lucerne, Jacob Phillips and his wife, Dusty, Royal Center, Amy Phillips, Milwaukee, Wis., Edward Phillips and his wife, LarRissa, and Ann and Brian Knisley, all of Troy, Ohio; six great-grandchildren; and two cousins.
Dr. Horace Smith will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Royal Center Cemetery, Royal Center.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
