Robert F. Powell, 94, of Logansport, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at McKinney Place in Logansport.

Born on October 25, 1925 in Kokomo, he is the son to the late Vern R. and Hazel L. (Campbell) Powell.  On January 5, 1947 in Logansport, he married Mary Jane Watson who survives.

Robert retired from the Logansport Police Department in 1971 after 20 years of service to his community.  Bob had also worked as a tool and cutter grinder in Arizona and a foreman for the Logan Machine Company.

Bob was a World War II Army Veteran who received two Purple Hearts and four Bronze Stars. He was a member of the American Legion Post #60, life member of the V.F.W. Post #3790, and life member of F.O.P. Lodge #71.

Bob had his private pilots license and loved to fly.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving along with his wife Mary, is a daughter, Marilyn Kahl, Lucerne; daughter, Carol Ann Preuss, Waseca, MN; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Jane Perdue, 2 sisters, 3 brothers and a granddaughter Heather Kahl.

A private service will be held, burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
