Robert L. Day, 82, of Logansport, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo.
Born on June 4, 1938 in Roya Center, he is the son to the late Virgil F. and Angeline (Vitello) Day. Virgil was killed in action in Iwo Jima, so Jack Sadler helped raise Robert since he was 7 years old. Robert was a graduate of Logansport high school and married to Anna L. Roberts who survives.
Bob was an upholsterer and owned Day’s Upholstery. Bob’s second home was the woods, he loved to be outdoors hunting, cutting wood, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are three sons, Michael J. (Janice) Day of Logansport; Matt (Jodi) Day of Lafayette; Mark (Sara) Day of Lafayette; two daughters, Beth Ann Day; and Joni (Jerry) Grandstaff both of Logansport; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Kathy (Jay) Elliott of Indianapolis.
Bob was buried privately in the Thompson Cemetery near Royal Center.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday June 12, 2021 from 1-4 pm at the day family residence located at 1443 North 900 West, Logansport, IN 46947
Memorial contributions, in memory of Bob, may be made to the Izaak Walton League of Logansport.
