Rodney Calvin Bartak, 64, Logansport, died at 8:12 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born Feb. 4, 1947, in Bedford, Ohio, he was the son of Frank and Viola Ruth Waller Bartak. He was married June 1, 1968, in Logansport, to Sharon A. Stanton, who preceded in death Sept. 30, 2010.
Rodney was a former tool and die maker for General Tire Company.
He was a member of Spring Creek Christian Church. Rodney also was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War.
Surviving are daughter, Melissa Nixon and husband, Eric, Pendleton; son, Tracy Bartak and wife, Niki, Whiteland; half brother, Joe Oliver, Logansport; half sister, Julie Doughtery and husband, Paul, Cleveland; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jess Bennette officiating.
Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
