Ronald “Ron” O. Nazerine, age 82, of Macy and formerly of Logansport, passed away Saturday August 14, 2021 at Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born May 9, 1939 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Dorothy (Gray) Nazerine.
Ron was a dedicated math teacher of 34 years, teaching at Columbia Elementary, Lincoln Middle School and Columbia Middle School for the Logansport Community School Corporation. Ron also served 20 years as treasurer of LEA and 20 years as treasurer of Nyona Lake/South Mud Lake Boosters Club. Ron was active with youth sports for many years serving 29 years with Logansport Little League, coaching basketball for 21 years at Lincoln Middle School and 4 years at Columbia Middle School and 15 years coaching with Rag Tag Football. Ron helped keep the books and stats for the Logansport Berries Baseball Team for many years and was also a member of the Fulton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two nieces, Deborah (Tim) Senesac, Logansport, IN; Tracy (Brian) Harper, Winamac, IN; two great nieces, Alison Senesac, Atlanta, GA and Hayley (Josh) Ruff, Fishers; IN.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joanie (Art) Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday August 18, 2021 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Knebel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
A visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton United Methodist Church.
