Rosemary E. Hardt, 96, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Logansport, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 in her residence.
Born Dec. 20, 1920 in Denver, IN to the late Clinton T. and Jettie Harper Murphy. On February 25, 1939 in Denver, IN she married George E. Fahl who passed away on May 3, 1982. Her second marriage was on Nov. 30, 1985 in Denver, IN to Charles D. Hardt who passed away on Nov. 25, 2012.
Rosemary retired in 1985 after forty five years as a self employed beautician. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Vashti Chapter Order of Eastern Star, member of Miami Baptist Church and the American Baptist Women’s group of the church.
Survivors include one son, Stanley (Carol) Fahl, Fort Wayne; son-in-law, James Smith, Indianapolis; two step daughters, Carol Sue (Harold) McGhee, Riverview, FL; Joyce Dalton, Logansport; step son, Charles F. Hardt, Logansport; sister, Vernice Burke, CA; sister-in-law, Donna Murphy, New Jersey; five grandchildren, six step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.
Rosemary was preceded in death by one sister, Londa Kuhn, two brothers, Nordan and Elvin Murphy, and one daughter, Sonna Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Friday Dec. 30, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Spencer officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Miami Baptist Church or the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
