Services for Roy Raymond Russell Burbridge, 48, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 5:26 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 27, 1959, in Columbia, Ky., he was the son of Roy Mitchell and Johnnie Mae Dudley Burbridge.
He retired in June of 1997 after 20 years in the U.S. Army with the rank of SSGT/E-6.
He was a life member of VFW Post 3790 and a member of American Legion Post 60. Roy was a graduate of Adair County High School in Columbia, Ky.
During his service to his country, Roy received the following awards: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal and Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon With Numeral 2. Roy was also a diehard member of the Air Calvary.
Surviving are daughter, Brandy R. Burbridge, Logansport; son, Roy Raymond Russell Burbridge II, Logansport; brothers, James Burbidge, Frankfort, Ky., Cliff Burbridge, Richmond, Ky., and Mike Burbridge, Louisville; sisters, Sandy Burbridge, Columbia, Ky., Rogernetta Burbridge, Washington, D.C., and Jean Burbridge, Frankfort, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Roderick.
Dr. Horace Smith will officiate. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
