Services for Rud Eugene Spillman, 83, Lafayette, formerly of Logansport, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Presbyterian Church, Logansport.
He died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009, in his residence.
Born Feb. 9, 1926, in Logansport, he was the son of Arthur M. Spillman and Gertrude F. Geppinger. He was married Oct. 25, 1947, in Logansport, to Thelma H. Turnpaugh, who survives.
Rud retired in 1989 as a teacher for Logansport Community Schools. He was also the former owner and operator of Spillmanâs Garage in Logansport.
He was a member of Tipton Masonic Lodge 33, Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, Logansport Shrine Club, Retired Teachers Association and Calvary Presbyterian Church, where he had been deacon, elder and trustee. Rud was also past president of the Logansport Shrine Club Third Wheel Patrol.
Also surviving are daughter, Lori Frances âHudsonâ Tran and husband, James, Lafayette; grandchildren, Ashley Tran, Sarah Tran, Jacob Tran, Emma Tran, Drew Tran and Hannah Tran, all of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by one son, Eric Spillman.
The Rev. Doug Mankell will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call two hours before services Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shrinerâs Hospitals For Children.
