Private services for Ruth Ann Collins, 71, Logansport, were held Wednesday at St. Johnâs Cemetery in Logansport.
She died at 3:26 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008, in Millerâs Merry Manor.
Born June 6, 1937, in Cass County, she was the daughter of James L. and Ruby L. Shaffer Smith. Her first marriage was on June 26, 1954, in Logansport, to David Dubois, who preceded in death. Her second marriage was on July 12, 1975, in Logansport, to Harold âFritzâ Collins, who preceded in death Feb. 16, 1990.
Ruth was a former housekeeper at the Logansport State Hospital and at the Holiday Inn. She was also the owner and operator of Virgil & Rubyâs Bar, where she retired in 1996.
She was a member of the VFW Post 3790 and American Legion Post 60.
Surviving are daughter, Debra K. Marciniak and husband, John, Logansport; son, Freddy L. DuBois and wife, Beth, Star City; granddaughters, Christina Brenner, Logansport, Casey Howard and husband, Tim, Culver, and Tiffanie Townsend and husband, Josh, Kewanna; grandsons, Allen Brenner and wife, Kristie, Ingalls, and Mike Brenner and wife, Stefanie, Logansport; great-granddaughters, Britany Campbell, Logansport, Kayla Townsend, Kewanna, and Adilynn Brenner, Ingalls; great-grandsons, Bryce Howard and Bailey Howard, both of Culver, and Gabriel Townsend, Kewanna; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends and neighbors, Mike and Milly Allen, Logansport.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jensen and Carol McIntire; two brothers, Danny and Donnie Smith; and one great-grandson, Ayden Brenner.
Burial was in St. Johnâs Cemetery, Logansport.
