Ruth Keener

Ruth H. Waters Keener, 91, of Logansport, passed away Saturday Dec. 27, 2014 at 1:30 am in Millers Merry Manor.

Born May 10, 1923 in Pine Valley, KY to the late Turner and Etta Mae (Applegate) Himes.

Ruth's first marriage was 1945 in Cincinnati, OH to Gene Waters who preceded in death in 1974. On Nov. 11, 1979 in Calloway Garden, Georgia she married Harold Keener who also preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 2001.

Ruth had formerly worked at Camelot Care Center and the Farmers and Merchants Bank.

Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Tollesboro High School in KY and then attended Cincinnati Business College. She was a member of the River of Life Christian Church, enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Renda Garner, Logansport, IN; Marsha (Ron) Fields, Mankato, MN; two granddaughters, Amy MacMann, Long Beach, MS; Sarah (Greg) Emery, Golfport, MS; two grandsons, Thomas Garner, Somerset, KY; Jason (Jenni) Fields, Tehachati, CA; eight great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Scoufos, Sydney MacMann, Alex Emery, Eric Emery, Brooke Emery, Ally Garner, Madeline Fiields, Lynnea Fields and Ford Fields; one foster daughter, Jacalyn Anticola, FL.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport from 3-5 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at the Brell & Son Funeral Home in Maysville, KY followed by a  graveside service at the Hillcrest Garden of Memories Cemetery in Maysville, KY. There will be one hour of visitation prior to services at the Brell Funeral Home on Friday.
