Ruth E. Morris, 96, Fort Myers, Fla., died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.
She was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Cass County, N.D., the daughter of Albert and Harriet Marsh Piper.
She was married Nov. 8, 1943, in Fort Collins, Colo., to John M. Morris, who preceded her in death Oct. 7, 1994
She worked as a licensed practical nurse for Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru and Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida
Ruth was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. She was also a member of First Christian Church in Peru and Fort Myers Christian Church.
Survivors include sons, Robert Morris and wife, Pamela, Bunker Hill, Ron Morris and wife, Connie, Logansport; daughter, Paulette Idol, Fort Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Piper; a sister, Verna Schatzke; a half-brother, Robert Piper; and a half-sister, Marie Glasow.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor George McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, Fort Myers.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
