Sally Sue Mauck, age 89, passed away at 8:13 am Wednesday June 26, 2024, in Miller’s Merry Manor.
Born March 14, 1935, in Union City, IN to the late Stanley L. and Winnifred V. (Hittle) Riegel. On July 7, 1957, in Union City, IN she married Randall L. Mauck who preceded in death on October 29, 2017.
Sally was a retired kindergarten and lower elementary school teacher for the Logansport Community School Corporation.
She was a former member of Chi Omega Sorority, Tri Kappa Sorority, honorary member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Church of the Good Shepherd, former memberships and organizations include church board member, president of the American Association of University Women, past president of the Ball State Alumni Association, Cass County Children’s Home Board Member, Domestic Violence Task Force member and former Meals- on- Wheels volunteer at Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include one daughter, Michele (Mark) Long, Logansport; two sons, Mark (Jane) Mauck, Martinsville; Mitchell (Jennifer) Mauck, Carmel; two grandsons, Ryan (Shae) Long, Fort Wayne, IN; Gage Mauck, Carmel, IN; seven granddaughters, Molly (Ben) Sterrett, Logansport; Kahla (Kyle) Breisch, Peru; Julia (Logan) Gilbert, Greenfield, IN; Caroline Mauck, Martinsville, IN; Sara Mauck, Carmel, IN; Hanna Mauck, Carmel, IN; Lily Mauck, Carmel, IN; three great grandson, Myles Randall Long and Hudson Sterrett; Elliott Gilbert; one great granddaughter, Stella Diane Long; two step great grandchildren, Allivia Sterrett; Brandon Sterett and one great grandchild coming in October of 2024.
Sally was preceded in death by three sisters.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday July 5, 2024, at 3:00 pm in the Gundrum Funeral Home. With Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. A private burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Cass County Dentzel Carousel Association.
