Mrs. Sharon Grandma Kay Burns, 71, of Kokomo, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Central, Lafayette.
Mrs. Burns was born July 27, 1941, in Peru, to Vern L. and Mary Jane (Murtha) Dunn
She married Richard Oliver Dick Burns on July 17, 1959, in Logansport. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 2009.
Mrs. Burns retired in 2002 from Sears, after many years of service.
She was a member of the Indiana Square Dancers Association, Rhinestone Rustlers, Rochester Swinging Dudes, Lafayette Fun Squares and Bridge City Squares.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who took great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren, watching them compete in 4-H, play sports, dance, and participate in school and church programs.
Survivors include daughter, Patty (Mark) Bohannon of Lebanon; sons, Richard A. Rick (Beth) Burns of Flora, and Gary (Michele) Burns of Jamestown; grandchildren, Ricky, Ashley, Abbie, Briley and McKayley Burns, and Chris, Katie and Cody Bohannon; and brother, James (Marsha) Dunn of Logansport.
She was preceded in death by son, Michael Burns and husband Richard "Dick" Burns.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 23, at Gundrum Funeral Home, 1603 E. Broadway, Logansport, IN 46947. Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the funeral home, with Pastor John Puckett officiating. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boone or Carroll County 4-H, or to the American Cancer Society.
