Sharon R. Munson, 68, Twelve Mile, died at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born June 30, 1941, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Mary E. Pifer Petrie. She was married June 1, 1968, in St. Joseph Church in Logansport, to Gary “Butch” Munson.

Sharon was retired from the Pioneer School Corporation after 36 years of teaching.

A 1959 graduate of Metea High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She also was a 1963 graduate of the Kelley School of Business, where she attained her bachelor’s degree and then acquired her master’s and education degree from Indiana University. She enjoyed gardening, riding horses, traveling, dining out and was also an avid sports fan.

Surviving are her husband, Gary “Butch” Munson, Twelve Mile; daughters, Marla K. DuVall and husband, Greg, and Delonna “George” R. Logan and husband, Brian, all of Logansport; grandsons, Michael P. Remley, Samuel C. DuVall and Petrie M. DuVall, all of Logansport; and granddaughters, Haley R. Logan and Kylee T. Logan, both of Logansport.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles “Mike” Petrie.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in All Saints Catholic Church with Father Mike McKinney officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home, where a Scripture service will be at 6 p.m. Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints School or Church.
