Sherryl A. Martin, 70, of Logansport, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth East of Lafayette.

Born January 5, 1945 in Berne, IN to the late Kenneth  and Ann Marie (Burdge) Zerkel. On April 16, 1993 in Logansport, IN she married Larry K. Martin who survives.

Sherryl retired in 2001 from the Logansport School Corporation after 34 years as a teacher in special education. She was a 1963 graduate of South Adams High School and a 1967 graduate of Manchester College with a bachelors' degree in education. She also received a Masters Degree in education from Ball State University. Sherryl was a member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church where she was active in children's ministries, Barnabas ministries, Kairos ministries, Emmaus ministries and was a leader of the Triple S Bible study group. Sherryl had a love of music and served faithfully in the church hand bell choir.

Other survivors include two sons, Eric Raderstorf and fiancée Samantha Taylor of Lafayette; Curt (Sustela) Raderstorf, Logansport; one step son, Michael (Tami) Martin, Carmel; four brothers, Gene (Joyce) Zerkel, Anchorage, AK; James (Beverly) Zerkel, Joplin, MO; Jerry (Sue) Zerkel, McKinney, TX; Ronald (Sharon) Zerkel, Ft. Myers, FL; three grandchildren, Cullen, Cormac and Connor Raderstorf; three step grandchildren, Spencer, Reilly and Alia Martin; several nieces and nephews. One step daughter, Kathy L. Martin and one sister, Kate Sauers, preceded her in death.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at the Cross Wind United Methodist Church with Dr. George Plasterer and Rev. Doug Upton officiating. A private burial will be held in the Miami Baptist Cemetery near Logansport.

A visitation will be held at the Cross Wind United Methodist Church from 4 -8 PM Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 and 1-hour prior to her services on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the Cross Wind United Methodist Church.
