Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother

Shirley Ann Easter, 74, of Twelve Mile, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 13th, 2009 at 11:25 P.M. in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, after a fall in her home earlier in the day.

Born April 30, 1935 in Decatur, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Louis Charles Zinsmaster & Geneva (Bowen). She was a former cheerleader and 1953 graduate of Logansport High School. Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Frederick W. Easter on July 12, 1953 at the Miami Baptist Church in Adamsboro.

Her life revolved around her faith and commitment to her Lord, her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Corinth Brethren Church playing the piano and the organ, serving in the women’s missionary society, the church choir and as a deaconess. She taught piano to many local students and also played for several funerals and other events.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Fred of Twelve Mile, their son Douglas and his wife, Ann and their two children, Katie and Johnathan of Logansport, and their daughter Lynn and her husband, Dave Schmid and their two daughters, Bailey and Jordan, also of Twelve Mile. She is further survived by her brother Jerry Zinsmaster of Decatur, Indiana, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anita and Lowell Hoehne of Lafayette, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Chester and Blanche Easter, her sister, Betty Teeple, and her brothers Don Sr., Dick, and Harold Zinsmaster.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Corinth Brethren Church, Twelve Mile. Visitation for Shirley will be held at Gundrum Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Pastor Michael Thompson will officiate the services.
