Stephanie L. Helvie, 71, Logansport, died at 12:32 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, in St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.
Born Feb. 5, 1939, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Steve Brockman and Violet Johnson. She was married June 29, 1957, in Idaville, to James W. Helvie, who preceded in death Nov. 26, 1991.
Mrs. Helvie retired from the Logansport State Hospital after 20 years of service.
She was a member of the Stephâs Heffers Bowling Team. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and going to the gambling boat.
Surviving are daughters, Louisia Pratt and husband, Ron, Monticello, Jamie Johnson and companion, John, Lake Cicott, and Brenda Forker and husband, Jeff, Lucerne; son, James W. Helvie Jr. and wife, Kim, Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Donna Geisler, Logansport.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Christina Bonnell, Bessie Rife, and Judith Kyburz.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Alvin Rockey officiating.
Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
