Steven Smith

Steven A. Smith, age 70, of Logansport, passed away Wednesday October 16, 2019 in Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born March 13, 1949 in Kokomo, IN to the late John Presley and Mary (Bryan) Smith. On May 25, 1990 in Logansport he married Jerilyn Arone who survives.

Steve was a maintenance supervisor for the department of corrections. He was a member of Tipton Masonic Lodge #33, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple and Logansport Shrine Club. Steve was a Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a purple heart.

Survivors including his wife Jerilyn are three daughters, Melissa (Dave Gregorich) Smith, Royal Center, IN; Paige (Patrick) Johansen-Schrum, Logansport, IN; Elizabeth (Mason) Mills, Logansport, IN; four granddaughters, Jordan Johansen, Isabella Wagoner, Jennalee Schrum and Sawyer Lantz; four grandsons, Joel Johansen, Brody Wagoner, Isaiah Lantz and Noah Mills.

He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Linda Jones.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday October 19, 2019 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Snyder officiating. A burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery with full military rites.

A visitation will be held from 2 pm until time of services on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
