Sue Elizabeth McCloskey Wheeler, 97, Logansport, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.

Born February 9, 1916 in Deer Creek, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Ethel (Hubler) McCloskey. On June 16, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio she married Charles W. Wheeler who preceded her in death on October 10, 2009.

Sue was a member of the former Deciples of Christ Christian Church in Young America where she taught young adult Sunday school classes. She was a 1934 graduate of Young America High School, she then completed a 2 year business education degree at Bryant and Stratton College in Chicago. She enjoyed investments, reading the Wall Street Journal, traveling and outdoor activities.

Surviving her is one daughter, Anita L. Wheeler, New York, NY; and one brother, Rex McCloskey, Galveston; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Don, Max, and Wilmer McCloskey, and 5 sisters, Wilma Straight, Mary Addy, Gene Ison, Joan Smiley, ,and Phyllis Dillon.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Young America, IN.

Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service.
