Services for Thomas E. Cummins, 82, Logansport, are 2 p.m. Monday in Landmark Baptist Church.
He died at 4:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 10, 1926, in Birdseye, he was the son of John Thomas Cummins and Lucy Fern Sprinkle. He was married Aug. 19, 1961, in Hoover, to Phyllis R. Applegate, who survives.
Thomas retired from Courier Newsome in 1970, after 20 years of service.
He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and a life-time member of VFW Post No. 3790. Thomas was a World War II Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and euchre.
Also surviving are his sons, Thomas A. Cummins and wife Jean, Aiken, S.C., and Steven Cummins, Mount Hope, W.Va.; daughter, Donetta Ellis and husband Kenny, Logansport; stepson, Ray Halteman and wife Linda, South Bend; sister, Pat Huff and husband Bob, New Boston; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and one sister preceded in death.
Pastor Edward Locke will officiate. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. today in Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
