Thomas M. Leffert , 90, of Walton, passed  away Friday, October 10, 2014,peacefully, surrounded by his family, in his residence.

Born on December 12, 1923 he was the son of the late Charles and Mabel (Marshall) Leffert. Thomas and Janet Baldwin were married on July 30, 1966 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Logansport. Their union of 47 years blended together a family of three loving daughters and one son. Over the years four generations were added to the family tree. His wife, Janet Leffert, passed away December 11, 2013.

Thomas was retired from Delco, and was also a farmer.  He was a member of the Walton American Legion Post #418, and the Logansport Elks Lodge #66.  He was a World War II veteran of the Marine Corps. Tom enjoyed fishing trips to Michigan, dancing, gardening, and the time he spent with his family. Making homemade apple cider was a treasured family tradition.

Left to cherish Leffert's memory are two daughters, Kathy (Vic) Bond, Indianapolis; Debra (Kenneth) Leffert, Logansport; and a son, Dan (Phyllis) Brubaker, Kokomo; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Charles and Mabel; his first wife, Pauline Snyder; daughter, Barbara Porter; son in law, Steven Porter; brother, Jack Leffert; and one grandson, Greg Owen.

A private gathering and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Cremation has been entrusted to Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
