Vancel Keith Armstrong, 78, of Lucerne, passed away Sunday October 15, 2017 in his residence surrounded by his family.
Born June 24, 1939 in Arbela, Missouri, he was the son to the late Ora Earl and Margaret (Wright) Armstrong.
On October 2, 1999 in Fletchers Lake United Methodist Church he married Patricia Ann Sutton who survives.
Vance was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Air Force. He was a former Scout Master, excellent woodworker and euchre player. He enjoyed working on the farm, raising animals and spending time with family. Vance retired from Western and Southern Life Insurance where he was a salesman. He also worked at the Cass County Home.
Surviving along with his wife Pattie is two daughters, Denise (Joe) Shideler, Logansport; Diane (Scott) Bruce, Logansport; two sons, Bryan Armstrong, Logansport; Gary (Chris) Armstrong, Logansport; two step-sons, Tom (Kellie) Roush, Portage, IN; Troy (Jennifer) Roush, Lucerne, IN; two sisters, Kathleen Schultz, Illinois; Delma Kelley, TX; two brothers, Darrell Armstrong, CA; Dallas Armstrong, MO; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death are four sisters and five brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00pm Thursday October 19, 2017 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor David Sommers Officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Bible Grove Cemetery, Missouri.
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm until time of services on Thursday October 19, 2017 at Gundrum Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Fletchers Lake United Methodist Church.
The Armstrong family has entrusted Gundrum Funeral Home and Crematory with arrangements.
