Vena Hornbeck

Services for Vena M. Hornbeck, 84, Logansport, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died at 5:41 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Brown County. On Jan. 10, 1948, she was married in Logansport to George J. Hornbeck, who preceded in death Jan. 18, 1981.

Vena was a homemaker and was a former employee of the H.W. Gossard Company.

She enjoyed needle work, cats, doing puzzles and reading to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are sons, George W. Hornbeck and wife, Rita, Logansport, John E. Hornbeck and wife, Cheryl, Fort Wayne, and Wesley V. Hornbeck, Kokomo; six grandchildren, Jim Hatton, Chris Corcoran, and Heather Criss and husband, Shawn, all of Logansport, and Nick Hornbeck, Mark Hornbeck and Jeff Hornbeck, all of Fort Wayne; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Scott Ellison will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call two hours before services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
