Vera Mae Larimore, 87 of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Golden Living Sycamore Village in Kokomo.
Born on May 27, 1930 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Ira Lewis and Ethel Maude (Campbell) McFatridge. On May 9, 1954 in Deer Creek, Indiana she married Laurel M. Larimore Jr. who survives.
Vera was a 1948 graduate of Deer Creek High School. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, loved listening to country western music, enjoyed word searches and reading books. Vera was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Surviving along with her husband Laurel are two daughters, Joy (Mike) Holt, Kokomo; Marsha Larimore, Logansport; her daughter she never had, Debra Wescott, Logansport; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Holt II, Kokomo; Stephanie (Chris Butler) Holt, Indianapolis; great grandchildren, Hailey, Austin and Rylee Holt; Garrett and Delilah Butler.
She was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Jim, Charles, Tom, Bill, Bob and Arthur McFatridge; and a sister, Dorothy McFatridge.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Gundrum Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery in Deer Creek, Indiana.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, June 30, 2017 also in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Logansport.
