Vera Thomson

Vera Maxine Thomson, age 96, of Logansport, passed away Thursday Oct. 27, 2016 in Warsaw Meadows Care Center in Warsaw, IN.

Born May 7, 1920 in Cass County to the late Marvin and Helen “Bashore” Grable. On February 25, 1938 in Bourbon, IN she married John Robert “Bob” Thomson who preceded in death on January 28, 2010.

Maxine was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Metea Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, James (Janet) Thomson, Logansport; one brother, Leonard (Alberta) Grable, Star City; two sisters, Lois Metz, Osceola; Diana James, TX; one daughter-in-law, Carole Thomson, Troy, OH; six grandchildren, Marsha (Bryan) Venable, Muncie; Karen Boucher, Walton; Keith Thomson, Logansport; Dana Thomson, Troy, OH; Denise (Brent) Wickersham, Largo, FL; Darren (Penny) Thomson, OH; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandson; several nieces and nephews.

One son, Don Thomson and three brothers, Bud, Don and Willy, preceded in death.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in the Metea Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Special Olympics.
