Verline Rittenberry

Services for Verline H. Rittenberry, 72, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Logansport Heritage Christian Church.

She died at 10:04 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

Born July 23, 1935, in Stanton, Ky., she was the daughter of Sam and George Ann Spencer Merrill. She was married Dec. 31, 1955, in Logansport, to Joyce S. “Jack” Rittenberry, who preceded in death Sept. 6, 1978.

Verline retired in 2004 after 25 years as a teacher’s aide for the Logansport School Corporation.

She was a member of the Logansport Heritage Christian Church.

Verline was also an avid collector of anything associated with Cardinals.

Surviving are one sister, Brenda Merrill, West Lafayette; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Merrill, Peru, and Margaret Merrill, Lafayette; one brother-in-law, Freeman Wireman, Amboy; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

The Rev. James Sparks will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour before services Wednesday in the church.
