Verna Kelley

Verna K. Kelley, age 75, of Logansport passed away Sunday January 10, 2021 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born November 6, 1945 in Boca Raton, Florida to the late Ralph F. Legg and Ruthanne (Overdorf) Legg. On August 22, 1965 in Omega, IN she married Jerry J. Kelley.

Verna graduated from Elwood High School in 1963. She was especially proud of her participation in the Elwood High School marching band.

Verna worked as a lab technician at Home Hospital and Purdue University. She graduated from nursing school at Indiana University at Kokomo in May of 1982. She initially served as a registered nurse at Tipton Hospital and then spent thirty years specializing in psychiatric and chemical dependency nursing at Howard Community Hospital, Ball Memorial Hospital, and St Vincent at Anderson.

Survivors include husband Jerry J. Kelley, Logansport and two sons: Brian, Atlanta, IN and Aaron, Logansport; aunt Helene Heath, Windfall; cousin Lyle (Jo) Heath, Muncie; and brother-in-law David (Sue) Kelley, Logansport.

Verna was preceded in death by her cousin Lynn Heath of St. Petersburg, FL.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2020 in the Arcadia Cemetery, in Arcadia, Indiana.
