Services for Victor E. McDonald, 77, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in Millerâs Merry Manor.
Born Nov. 4, 1929, in Logansport, he was the son of Ernest E. and Blanche G. Kirk McDonald. He was married July 2, 1959, in Logansport, to Irene Gordon, who preceded in death Feb. 25, 2006.
Victor retired in 1991 as a truck driver for Schneider Trucking. He was presented the Million Mile Award from Schneider Trucking after 20 years of driving accident free.
He was Past Commander from 2001 to 2003 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790, a member of American Legion Post 60, Voiture 729 40 & 8 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, having served during World War II. Victor was presented the Man of The Year Award from the VFW Post 3790 for 2000-2001.
Surviving are one son, Russell McDonald and his wife, Marleen, Lowell; three daughters, Vickie Wise and her husband, Robert, Lexington, Ky., Diane Middleton, Denver, and Kathy Overholser and her husband, Steve, Twelve Mile; a stepson, Tim Graf, Ocala, Fla.; three half brothers, Alva E. Parkins and his wife, Libby, and Thomas J. Parkins, all of Logansport, and Paul Dean Parkins, Pineville, La.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His half sister, Bonnie Zvorak, one brother, Bill McDonald, one stepson, Dan Graf, and one son, Steve McDonald, preceded in death.
Pastor Terri White will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
