Virginia H. Ballard, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday July 26, 2014 at 8:30PM in Community Hospital East, Indianapolis, IN.
Born March 11, 1923 in Logansport, Virginia was the daughter to the late Ernest R. and Jennie (Marchand) Hopple.
On August 31, 1946 in Logansport, she married J. Allen Ballard who preceded in death January of 2001.
She was a homemaker, former Walmart customer service representative, secretary, bookkeeper and retired from Statesman Insurance. She enjoyed knitting, was an avid pianist, and was a former member of the Peru Presbyterian Church.
Surviving her are two daughters, Beth Ballard, Indianapolis, IN; Jolene (Ray) Stafford, Carmel, IN; son, John Ballard and wife Sally Leppert, Indianapolis, IN; cousin, Joan DeHaven, Logansport; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
One brother, Robert E. Hopple, preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday July 30, 2014 at 1:00PM in the Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport, IN with Pastor David Zier officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from noon until 1:00 pm on Wednesday.
