Virginia Swartzell

Virginia R. Swartzell, 86, of Logansport, passed away at 11:06PM on October 24, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born October 20, 1927, she was the daughter of Oral and Emma (Yeager) Wilson. On June 19, 1949 in Logansport, she married Everett L. Swartzell who survives.

Virginia worked as a stenographer at NIPSCO for 25 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for 50 years, and the 4H Home Ec. Club.

Surviving along with her husband is one daughter, Sharon (Jim) Baar; son, Donald L. Swartzell; grandson, Adam J. Baar; two granddaughters, Kathryn E. Baar, and Jennifer M. Baar; and one sister, June Land, all of Logansport.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Wilson; and one brother, James Wilson.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, October 28, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home. Pastor Dean Fager will be officiating, and burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Monday.
