Wayne A. DeHaven, 92, of Logansport passed away at 6:45 AM Monday, December 17, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport, IN.
Born August 3, 1920 in Cass County, Indiana to the late Clifford J. and Florence E. Carney DeHaven. On August 1, 1948 in Logansport, Wayne married Joan E. Wirth who survives.
Wayne was employed by Engineering Construction for 28 years. He then retired in 1983 after many years of service with Deichman Excavating as a Superintendent.
Wayne was a World War 2 Army Air Corp Veteran. He was also a member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #60, life member of the V.F.W. Post #3790, life member of Tipton Masonic Lodge #33, life member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne, life member of Mizpah Shrine of Fort Wayne, Logansport Shrine Club, and Hillbillies Clan #14.
Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Nancy L. DeHaven; and Jane A. Carbaugh (Charles); son, Stan DeHaven (Kathy), all of Logansport; Six grandchildren, Stacey Rogers,Holly Weaver (Derick), both of Logansport;Scott DeHaven (Angie), Stevensville, MI; Robin A. DeHaven, Austin, TX; Angela Klinkhammer (Eddie), and John C. Carbaugh, both of Logansport; and twelve great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. DeHaven will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. George Plasterer officiating.
Burial with full military graveside rights will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Gundrum Funeral Home.
A Shrine procession and Masonic Service will be held at 6:45 PM.
Memorials may be made to the Shrine Hospitals for Children or Cross Wind United Methodist Church.
