TWELVE MILE – Wilbert H. Paschen, 94, Twelve Mile, went to be with the Lord at 1:35 a.m. Sunday, December 11, 2011, in Woodbridge Health Campus, Logansport.

Born July 1, 1917, in Twelve Mile, he was the son of Henry and Bertha Doll Paschen. He was married to Helen Hamon, who preceded him in death in December of 1982. On July 8, 1984 in Metea, he married Wilma Brown Metz.

He was a retired farmer and a former sexton of the Metea Baptist Cemetery for over forty years.

Wilbert was a 1935 graduate of Metea High School and has been a member of the Metea Baptist Church for over 70 years. He was a former treasurer of the Metea Baptist Church and Metea Cemetery. He was also a former Caston School Board Member.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma J. Paschen, Twelve Mile; sons, Robert E. Paschen, and wife Lois, Twelve Mile, Charles Paschen, Harlegen, TX, and Gary Paschen , and wife Diana, Lucerne; Daughters, Pat Breckenridge, Alexandria, Doneta Redding, and husband Benny, Flora, and Betty Morris, and husband Paul, Delphi.; Sisters, Helen Hutchinson, Florida, and Edith Chapman, Lafayette; 19 Grandchildren, 44 Great Grandchildren, 6-Great Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

The service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Metea Baptist Church with Pastor William Cordes and Pastor Nathan Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in the Metea Cemetery.

Wilbert enjoyed people. He realized the art of friends, family and neighbors visiting were of the past so at Wilbert’s request the family will receive friends and neighbors from 3 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Metea Baptist Church in the lower auditorium.
Memorials may be made to the Metea Baptist Church or to the Salvation Army.
