William C. âBillâ Carithers, 71, Logansport, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, in North Woods Village, Kokomo.
Born Dec. 15, 1938, in Logansport, he was raised by his stepfather, Edward J. Hurley, who preceded him in death.
Bill retired from Wilson Foods after 16 years of service.
He was a member of the VFW Post 3790, American Legion Post 60 and Eagles Lodge 323. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 101st Airborne Division. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
Surviving are son, Ron Carithers, Logansport; daughter, Susan Carithers, Logansport; granddaughters, Mellissa Woolever and husband, Jeremy, and Heather Gilsinger, all of Logansport; and grandsons, Bryan Lee and Anthony Watson, both of Logansport.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Carithers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Gross officiating.
Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
