Services for William D. âBillâ Chapman, 79, Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born June 22, 1928, in Cass County, he was the son of Thelmer and Edith Harner Chapman. He was married April 2, 1949, in Logansport, to Imogene âImyâ Hellyer, who survives.
He retired after 46 years as a bus driver for the Logansport School Corporation. Bill was also a former custodian for the school.
He was a member of the Logansport Emmanuel Church, where he was a former Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher. Bill enjoyed music, history and spending time with his family.
Also surviving are daughter, Deborah Binford, Logansport; sons, Steve Chapman, Logansport, and David Chapman and wife, Beth, Royal Center; brother, Selmar E. Chapman and wife, Doris, Logansport; two stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Carl Chapman, and three sisters, Margaret Chapman, Betty Finnegan and Dorothy Edwards.
Alan Crawford will officiate. Burial will be in Deer Creek Cemetery, Onward.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
