William Gilbert

William "Bill" C. Gilbert, 76, of Logansport, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1:05PM in Sycamore Village, Kokomo.

Born August 24, 1937, Bill was the son of the late Glen Sr. and Alyce (McCoy) Gilbert.

He was an Operator Engineer, a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War, member of the V.F.W. Post 3790 and American Legion Post 60. Bill frequently visited his "office" at Bullshippers Cafe, where he enjoyed spending time with his second family. He was also a very skilled dancer, which was a passion of his.

Surviving is one son, Shane A. Gilbert, Kansas; three daughters, Hayli D. Crissinger, Logansport, IN; Amy C. (Chad) Willis, Flora, IN; Vanessa L. (Jackie) Hight, Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Dylan Gilbert, Lindsay Harris, Cole Crissinger, Coty Crissinger, Clayton Hight, Connor Hight, Ethan Hight, Kaitlyn Harris, Brea Langley, Hayden Hight, McKenna Hight, Jackson Hight, Zakary Willis, and Morgan Willis; three nephews, Dale (Tina) Gaddis, Royal Center, IN; Michael Thomas, Royal Center, IN; Nik Gaddis, Peru, IN; three nieces, Brandi Brovont, Logansport, IN; Alyce Gaddis, Logansport, IN; Barb Gaddis, Logansport, IN; and several other nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Gaddis and Donna Frye, two brothers, Gerald and Glen Gilbert Jr, and niece Deb Gaddis.

A Celebration of life with full military rites will be held at 3:00 PM on March 8, 2014 at 3:00PM in the Gundrum Funeral Home

Visitation will be from 12:00PM until the time of the Service on Saturday.
Burial will be held at a later date in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport, IN.
Memorials may be made to the Logansport American Legion or V.F.W.
