William A. "Art" Maloney Sr., 85, of Logansport, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Born August 12, 1927 in Montgomery County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ova and Ida (Piersall) Maloney. On March 3, 1950 in Logansport he married Lucille O. Baker who survives.
He retired from Exide Battery Factory, and also retired as the Pastor for Grace Fellowship Church. Art was a United States Navy Reserve Veteran, and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #60. He also enjoyed restoring antique cars, playing guitar, singing, and ministering to anyone he came in contact with. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Barb (Jim) Zimmerman; and Miki (Joe) Brown, both of Logansport; two sons, Bill (Fran) Maloney, Logansport; Mike Maloney, Battle Creek, MI; nine grandchildren, Heidi (Jeff) Brown; Holly Fultz, both of Logansport; Nicole Maloney, Arizona; Dusty (Bryan) Watts, Denver, CO; Brandon Emerson; Michael Maloney; Jerrica Maloney, all of Battle Creek, MI; Ethan Brown, and Ed (Kim) Zimmerman, both of Logansport; twelve great grandchildren; half brother, James "Jim" Maloney, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Sexton.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 5, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jay McKinley officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2013 also in the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Grace Fellowship Church in Logansport.
