Services for William M. âBillâ Taylor Sr., 88, Logansport, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
He died at 12:02 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, in Naples Community Hospital, Naples, Fla.
Born May 24, 1918, in Logansport, he was the son of William T. and Ethel Menke Taylor. He was married May 8, 1945, in Indianapolis, to Betty L. Flory, who survives.
Bill was the former owner and president of the original Tay-Mor Industries.
He was a life member of Elkâs Lodge 66, American Legion Post 60, Tipton Masonic Lodge 33 F&AM and the SAE, and was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Force.
Bill was also a member of the Glades Country Club Association of Naples, Fla., where he had recorded a hole in one at the age of 87. He was also a Kentucky Colonel of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He was a member of the Jarrettown Methodist Church of Jarrettown, Pa. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, gardening, antique cars, NASCAR and golfing.
Also surviving are two sons, William M. Taylor Jr. and his wife Barbara L., and Alan R. Taylor and his wife, Teresa, all of Logansport; two grandsons, Todd R. Taylor and his wife, Hillery, Logansport, and Zachary Taylor and Danielle Syslo, Hollywood, Calif.; one great-grandson, Jacob E. Taylor, Logansport; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Three sisters, Marion Henning, Elizabeth T. Crosley and Jean Ann Kugler, preceded in death.
The Rev. Kathleen Hines will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday.
