William “Bill” E. Demerly, 85 of Logansport, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born on October 4, 1932 in Logansport, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Burns) Demerly. On May 21, 1953 in Junction City, Kansas he married Doris M. Magart who survives.
Bill retired as a car salesman and was a 1951 graduate of Logansport High School. He was a United States Army Veteran and an avid sports fan. Bill enjoyed attending all Logansport Berry athletic events and watching the Cubs, Bears, Colts, Boilers and the Irish.
Surviving along with his wife Doris, is a daughter, Deb (Sam) Tocco, Logansport; grandchildren, Tony Tocco, Troy Tocco, both of Tampa, FL; Trent (Heather) Tocco, Logansport; Trisha (Grant) Simpson, Columbia, SC; great grandchildren, Michael, Addisyn and Berkley Tocco; Jackson and Bronson Simpson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Sue Demerly; a sister, Norma Jean Demerly; four half-brothers; and a half-sister.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Dirk Raderstorf officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
In honor of Bill, the family has requested that dress attire be casual and in support of your favorite sports team.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s name to the Logansport Berry Boosters, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
