Services for Zora Mae Kinder, 86, Logansport, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 5:53 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, in her daughterâs residence in South Bend.
Born May 22, 1923, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Rufus Williams and Zora Cravens. On April 12, 1946, in Indianapolis, she married William M. Kinder, who preceded in death June 5, 1993.
Zora was the proud owner of a successful business, The Bungalow Tavern, for 42 years, managing all aspects of the operation for the majority of that time. Zora had an enormous zest for life that came through in the way she impacted everyone that was blessed to get to know her. She loved to dance, play pool, have fun and spend time with her many friends and family. She touched the lives of so many with her endearing sense of humor, compassionate and generous nature, and her unique spirit. Her family and large circle of friends will cherish her memory and miss her greatly.
Survivors include three sons, Dave Kinder and wife, Tammy, Fort Wayne, Steve Kinder and wife, Nickie, Logansport, and Bill Kinder and wife, Lisa, Logansport; two daughters, Mary Kinder-Grube and husband, Ron Grube, Fort Wayne, and Janet Minton and husband, Bob, South Bend; two sisters, Joyce Linder, Lafayette, and Grace Hamilton, Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren, Mac Kinder, Sam Kinder, Gabe Kinder, Nic Kinder, Brittany Kinder, Elijah Kinder, Kayla Adair, Alexandria Rodriguez and husband, Brandon, Kylee Oliver, Georgia Grube and August Grube; one great grandchild, Ryder Joseph Rodriguez; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
